Job Description
Landscape Construction Superintendent - Development MTScapes, Inc. is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Superintendent to help lead the field execution of major residential and community development projects. This position is ideal for a field leader who understands landscape construction, knows how to manage subcontractors and employees, and can keep multiple projects moving safely, efficiently, and profitably. Position Location This position reports to our Cumming, Georgia location and requires regular travel between assigned jobsites. What You'll Do As the Landscape Construction Superintendent - Development, you will oversee landscape-related construction work associated with new neighborhoods and community developments. Projects may include community entrances, perimeter berms, amenity centers, parkways, common areas, irrigation systems, hardscapes, drainage, grading, lighting, and related improvements. You will coordinate subcontractors, MTScapes employees, builders, developers, inspectors, suppliers, and other onsite trades to ensure every project is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to MTScapes' quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage assigned projects from preconstruction handoff through punch list, turnover, and closeout Build and maintain project schedules based on builder milestones, site readiness, and contract requirements Coordinate subcontractors, company employees, materials, equipment, inspections, and deliveries Hold subcontractors accountable for safety, manpower, productivity, workmanship, and jobsite cleanliness Supervise assigned employees and manage their schedules, hours, attendance, productivity, and performance Coordinate with builders, developers, general contractors, inspectors, and other onsite trades Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, details, scopes of work, and project schedules Identify plan conflicts, missing information, site-condition concerns, and scope gaps before they affect production Oversee landscape installation, plant material, irrigation, hardscapes, masonry, concrete, drainage, grading, and site lighting Verify layouts, elevations, grades, materials, finishes, and installation methods against approved construction documents Inspect work throughout construction and ensure deficiencies are corrected promptly Manage inspections, punch lists, turnover requirements, warranty items, and project closeout Track labor, materials, subcontractor costs, committed costs, and production against the project budget Protect project profitability by controlling scope, documenting changes, and preventing unauthorized work Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, job notes, schedules, cost information, and project documentation Document delays, site conditions, builder-directed changes, and work outside the contracted scope Verify completed quantities and workmanship before approving subcontractor invoices What We're Looking For At least five years of landscape construction, site development, or related field-supervision experience Proven experience managing subcontractors and supervising field employees Experience coordinating multiple trades on active construction sites Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, details, scopes, and schedules Working knowledge of landscape installation, plant material, irrigation, hardscapes, masonry, concrete, drainage, grading, and lighting Strong planning, communication, documentation, problem-solving, and budget-management skills Ability to manage multiple active projects and adjust priorities as field conditions change Strong sense of urgency, accountability, and attention to detail Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record Ability to report to the Cumming, Georgia office and travel between assigned jobsites Why Join MTScapes?
