Reporting directly to the Owner/CEO, this position is responsible for the successful execution of projects across the company—from planning and resource coordination through completion and billing. The Construction Operations Manager will lead the Project Management team, coordinate the resources required to execute projects, solve operational challenges, and ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company standards. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands construction, can manage multiple projects simultaneously, and knows how to build and lead a strong Project Management team. Key Responsibilities Portfolio & Project Management
  • Maintain oversight of all active residential and commercial construction projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, timelines, priorities, and resource requirements.
  • Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and upcoming milestones.
  • Identify potential delays, cost overruns, or execution issues and drive solutions before they impact the project.
  • Personally manage selected projects when needed based on company workload and capacity. Project Manager Leadership
  • Hire, onboard, train, supervise, and develop Project Managers.
  • Assign projects and balance PM workloads based on project requirements and capacity.
  • Provide direction and support to PMs and resolve escalated project issues.
  • Hold PMs accountable for schedule, budget, quality, documentation, and customer communication.
  • Establish consistent project-management practices and expectations across the team. Subcontractor, Supplier & Resource Coordination
  • Plan and coordinate subcontractor requirements and construction sequencing across projects.
  • Ensure subcontractors, materials, equipment, and suppliers are scheduled to support project timelines.
  • Oversee work orders, material purchasing, equipment rentals, and Just-in-Time deliveries.
  • Anticipate resource conflicts and resolve labor, material, supplier, or scheduling issues before they cause project delays. Financial & Project Controls
  • Monitor project costs and performance against established budgets.
  • Identify potential cost overruns and work with PMs to take corrective action.
  • Oversee change-order scope, pricing, approval, and execution.
  • Ensure all completed and additional work is properly documented and captured for billing.
  • Coordinate with Administration to ensure accurate and timely customer invoicing. Operational Leadership
  • Serve as the primary operational link between the Owner/CEO, Project Managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and Administration.
  • Maintain clear visibility into the status, risks, costs, and expected completion dates of all active projects.
  • Establish and improve processes that increase project efficiency, accountability, profitability, and customer satisfaction.
  • Help build the project-management structure, systems, and team required to support continued company growth. Qualifications
  • 10+ years of construction experience, preferably across residential and/or commercial renovation and construction.
  • 5+ years of construction management experience, preferably across residential and/or commercial renovation and construction.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully managing multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Previous experience supervising, training, or leading Project Managers or construction teams.
  • Strong knowledge of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor management, procurement, job costing, and change orders.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
  • Ability to anticipate project needs and make sound decisions in a fast-moving construction environment.
  • Comfortable holding employees, subcontractors, and vendors accountable for commitments and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with construction/project-management systems and standard business technology.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project sites throughout Metro Atlanta.
What Success Looks Like Projects are properly planned and consistently delivered on schedule and within budget. Project Managers understand expectations, receive the support they need, and are held accountable for results. Subcontractors, materials, equipment, and suppliers are coordinated before they are needed. Problems are identified and solved quickly. Project costs and change orders are controlled, completed work is billed promptly, and the Owner/CEO has clear visibility into the performance of the entire project portfolio. As the company grows, this leader will build the people, processes, and operating discipline necessary to manage an increasingly larger portfolio without sacrificing quality, profitability, or customer experience.
