Job Description The Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day field operations for large‑scale physical security installation projects within data center environments. This role provides leadership, technical guidance, quality oversight, and coordination between subcontractors, general contractors, and internal project teams. The Site Supervisor ensures all access control, CCTV, intrusion, cabling, and infrastructure work is installed to specification, compliant with
NEC/NFPA
standards, and delivered on schedule.
Core ResponsibilitiesField Leadership & OversightSupervise and direct 5-15 installation technicians and subcontractors on active job sites.
Serve as the primary on‑site contact, communicating project status, risks, and updates to the Project Manager and leadership team.
Coordinate daily work activities with the General Contractor (GC), ensuring alignment with construction schedules and other trades.
Enforce safety practices and compliance with OSHA and site‑specific requirements.
Step in to support hands‑on installation tasks when needed to maintain schedule.
Technical ResponsibilitiesOversee installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of:
Electronic access control systemsCCTV/video surveillance systemsIntrusion detection platformsNetwork‑based security devices and low‑voltage infrastructurePerform system testing, validation, and documentation for turnover.
Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD design packages for field execution.
Ensure installations meet NEC, NFPA, and manufacturer standards.
Support development and review of O&M documentation, bulletins, and as‑built updates.
Quality & Schedule ManagementConduct routine quality inspections with QC personnel to maintain installation standards.
Track daily progress, document milestones, and escalate issues that impact schedule or scope.
Coordinate material deliveries, staging, and inventory needs with the Project Manager.
Ensure timely completion of project phases and commissioning deliverables.
Documentation & CommunicationMaintain accurate field reports, redlines, daily logs, and issue trackers.
Communicate construction impacts, conflicts, and design concerns to engineering and PM teams.
Participate in commissioning planning and execute system verification procedures.
Skills and Requirements Must Haves:
5+ years of experience as a supervisor, superintendent or foreman leading crews of 5-10 people from a Low voltage, electronic security, or GC backgroundExperience coordinating with general contractors and other trades on siteExperienced with project documentation and reportingAbility to read and interpret engineered drawings, risers, CAD layouts, and construction documents.
Ability to understand and follow project schedule
Plusses:
Knowledge of Division 28Data center physical security installation experience.
Experience with major security platforms such as Lenel, DMP, S2, Avigilon, Genetec, Bosch, Brivo, or similar.
Familiarity with commissioning methodologies for enterprise security systems.
Experience updating O&M manuals, creating redlines, and working with engineering teams on design revisions.
