- Operations Manager We are looking for a talented Operations Manager who has a passion for quality construction. This position is responsible for oversight, coordination, management support and technical expertise for all aspects of overhead transmission, substation, and distribution line construction, maintenance. What You'll Do
- Work closely with Project Managers and customers to assure crews and contractors are coordinated to work efficiently and meet contracting requirements, budgets, forecasts and schedules. Ensures that barriers to construction progress are removed in a timely manner.
- Demonstrate safety leadership by supporting the implementation and management of the MJE Safety Management System.
- Assist Project Managers with project scope development and project authorization through completion.
- Ensure that MJE Senior Management and Joint Venture Management is kept current on the progress of construction projects, business opportunities and industry trends.
- Systematically and regularly appraise and evaluate project progress against established goals, timelines and objectives. Provide assistance to Project Managers to correct deficiencies in these areas.
- Understand critical design requirements of on-going projects and continuously monitor construction quality to ensure compliance within established tolerances.
- Promote and develop common systems and processes to provide for proper accounting, reporting of project costs, customer billing, scheduling, material procurement, record keeping, documentation and budgeting by Project Managers.
- Interface with key customers to ensure that construction activities in affected areas are communicated and understood.
- Coordinates and directs the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, institutes and maintains other planning and control procedures (including the cost accounting system), and analyzes and reports variances. What You'll Bring
- Extensive project management skills with a track record of achievement of complex projects.
- Extensive electrical utility experience (overhead transmission, substation, and/or foundations/civil).
- Ability to analyze complex information and formulate decisions.
- Knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting methods
- Ability to provide oversight to numerous projects throughout a large geographic area
- Strong managerial/leadership skills to lead and develop a team of 5+ direct reports
- Extensive (10+ years') utility construction experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Accounting or Business Administration What You'll Get
