This position will be responsible for developing accurate estimates, managing project budgets and schedules, coordinating subcontractors and vendors, communicating with clients, and making sure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to Madsen Custom Homes standards. You will work alongside experienced construction professionals while building relationships with a wide variety of clients, subcontractors, and trade partners. You will represent Madsen Custom Homes in the field and with clients and are expected to demonstrate our core values in every interaction. Responsibilities Develop accurate and detailed estimates for residential construction projects. Review plans, specifications, project requirements, and site conditions to develop project scopes and pricing. Obtain and compare bids from subcontractors and vendors, clearly communicating scope, and negotiating pricing. Assemble professional, accurate, and well-organized estimates and proposals in a timely manner. Develop and maintain project budgets from the estimating phase through project completion. Create and maintain project schedules and coordinate work between subcontractors, vendors, clients, and field personnel. Manage assigned projects from start to finish, including estimating, contracting, scheduling, construction, change orders, and closeout. Monitor project costs and progress to ensure projects remain on budget and identify potential issues before they become problems. Review subcontractor and vendor invoices for accuracy and verify that costs are properly assigned to the project. Prepare, document, and track change orders and additional work. Maintain consistent, reliable, and documented communication with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and office personnel. Meet with potential and existing clients to discuss project scope, options, pricing, and construction requirements. Conduct jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and overall project conditions. Coordinate with field personnel to make sure work is completed according to the project scope and company standards. Identify and resolve project issues, scheduling conflicts, and unforeseen conditions in a timely manner. Maintain complete and organized project documentation, including estimates, budgets, schedules, change orders, subcontractor information, and project communications. Maintain quality service by following company standards and established project management procedures. Build and maintain strong working relationships with subcontractors, vendors, clients, and other trade partners. Contribute to the overall team effort and assist with other construction and company needs as required. Qualifications & Experience Minimum 3 years of construction experience in a similar or related position, preferably with a strong estimating background. Previous experience estimating and managing residential and/or commercial construction projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and sequencing. Experience using construction estimating and project management software. Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and other office software. Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities at the same time. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in the field. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
