A Construction Superintendent runs day-to-day operations on a construction site and controls the short-term schedule on the site. Also performs important quality control and coordinates subcontractors. Often works in cooperation with construction project manager.
Lead field operations for power utility construction projects, including substations, underground/overhead distribution, and electrical infrastructure Supervise crews, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure work is completed safely, on time, and within budget Coordinate daily jobsite activities including scheduling, material delivery, equipment usage, and workforce planning Enforce safety protocols, conduct toolbox talks, and ensure compliance with all OSHA and company safety standards Review project plans, specifications, and permits to ensure accurate execution of work Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to resolve field issues and maintain project progress Maintain detailed daily reports, track production, and monitor productivity and quality of work Oversee quality control and ensure all installations meet required standards and specifications
Qualifications:
5-10+ years of field experience in power utility or electrical infrastructure construction Proven experience as a Superintendent or Foreman managing utility or heavy civil projects Strong knowledge of substation construction, duct banks, trenching, directional boring, or high-voltage systems Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications Experience managing union and/or multi-trade workforces preferred Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement OSHA certification and other relevant safety training preferred A bit about us:•Our client is a long-standing infrastructure contractor with over a century of experience delivering critical projects across power, utility, telecommunications, and general contracting sectors.
