Construction Company | Architectural Construction Department Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Architectural Construction Coordinator to oversee architectural design coordination, construction administration, field issue resolution, and schedule support for a construction project. The ideal candidate will ensure that architectural work is constructible, coordinated with other disciplines, compliant with Owner standards, and executed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, quality requirements, and safety expectations. Key Responsibilities Design Oversight Review architectural drawings for constructability and compliance with Owner standards Verify design documents align with operational requirements Participate in design review meetings with architects and engineering consultants Evaluate value engineering proposals without compromising quality Review shop drawings and submittals Monitor design changes throughout the project lifecycle Ensure architectural details are coordinated with structural mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process utilities, and specialty systems Construction Administration Perform routine field observations of construction progress Verify construction conforms to approved plans and specifications Identify workmanship deficiencies and ensure corrective action Review Requests for Information (RFIs) Evaluate contractor change order requests Review architect supplemental instructions Participate in punch list development and closeout inspections Monitor completion of corrective work Attend field inspections and conduct pre-inspection reviews Follow up on corrective actions related to QORs issued by the Quality Team Follow up on subcontractors' corrective action plans for safety Violations and ensure their implementation Project Coordination Coordinate activities among the Owner, Architect, engineering consultants, Construction Manager, General Contractor, Trade Contractors, and Commissioning Team Facilitate issue resolution Maintain project action item logs Track open design issues Coordinate interdisciplinary problem solving Develop solutions for on-site interference issues and implement them in the field Schedule Management Monitor construction schedule Identify potential delays Participate in weekly coordination meetings Track milestone completion Verify sequencing of architectural work Coordinate long-lead procurement issues Support recovery planning when schedule impacts occur Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field Experience in architectural construction, field coordination, design review, or construction administration Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, shop drawings, RFIs, and submittals Strong understanding of constructability, interdisciplinary coordination, quality control, and field issue resolution Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and problem-solving skills Ability to work collaboratively with owners, architects, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, quality teams, and safety teams Preferred Qualifications Experience on large-scale industrial, manufacturing, semiconductor, or advanced technology construction projects Familiarity with BIM coordination tools, document control platforms, scheduling tools, and field management systems Location West Lafayette, Indiana How to apply https://www.gmcglobalsolutions.net
