Full-time, In-person Job Overview Equity Hub is seeking an experienced Director of General Construction Operations to lead and oversee commercial general construction operations. This is a senior leadership role focused on managing multiple construction projects at the same time through Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and other field leaders. The Director will be responsible for keeping projects on track while protecting schedule, budget, margin, quality, manpower, subcontractor performance, and client expectations. Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day operations of the General Construction division. Oversee multiple concurrent commercial construction projects from preconstruction handoff through project closeout. Lead and support Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field leadership. Review project schedules, budgets, job costs, gross margins, labor needs, subcontractor performance, procurement, change orders, RFIs, submittals, billing, quality, safety, and project risks. Monitor operational and financial performance and identify problems or margin risks early. Help determine staffing and manpower needs across active projects. Coordinate with estimating and preconstruction teams to support smooth project handoffs and realistic execution plans. Review constructability, scheduling, procurement, subcontractor strategy, labor requirements, and operational risks. Build and improve repeatable construction operating systems and processes. Support consistent processes for project kickoff, scheduling, procurement, RFIs and submittals, change orders, job-cost reporting, field reporting, billing, quality control, closeout, and warranty. Help resolve significant client, project, subcontractor, or operational issues. Maintain strong standards for safety, quality, compliance, and client service. Experience & Qualifications Approximately 8-15+ years of progressively responsible construction experience. Strong commercial general construction experience. Several years of senior project, operations, division, or construction leadership experience. Experience overseeing multiple projects through Project Managers, Superintendents, or other subordinate leaders. Strong understanding of project financials, job costing, scheduling, subcontractor management, procurement, change orders, RFIs, submittals, contract administration, quality, safety, and project closeout. Demonstrated ability to build teams, processes, departments, or operating systems. Preferred Background Public/government construction, bonding, institutional, or multi-market construction experience is preferred. Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent demonstrated construction leadership experience will also be considered.
Location / Relocation
Louisiana-based candidates are preferred. Exceptional candidates outside Louisiana may also be considered if they are open to relocation. Compensation Compensation will be competitive and structured around salary, benefits, and performance incentives, with final compensation based on experience and fit.
