GLO Resources is currently hiring an experienced Superintendent to work in Lafayette, LA. The pay range is between $1850

• $2200 per week, depending on experience. The schedule is Monday
• Friday, 6:30 am
• 4:30 pm, with occasional overtime, nights, and weekends as needed.

Position Summary:

The Superintendent will oversee day-to-day field operations and serve as a key leader on heavy highway and road construction projects. This role will lead crews and subcontractors, coordinate materials and equipment, monitor project progress, and work closely with the Project Manager to keep the job moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee daily construction activities, subcontractors, materials, and equipment. Lead daily crew huddles and weekly toolbox talks. Coordinate manpower and maintain productivity, quality, and safety standards. Work with the Project Manager on scheduling, project planning, and three-week look-ahead schedules. Track labor, equipment, production, quantities, and required field documentation. Identify jobsite issues and communicate potential delays or change orders to the Project Manager. Read and interpret construction plans and assist with field layout as needed. Build positive working relationships with customers, employees, subcontractors, and project teams. Coach and motivate field employees while promoting accountability, teamwork, and safety. Assist with hiring and training field personnel. May be assigned other tasks.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Superintendent in heavy construction, preferably with concrete, earthwork, utilities, or highway/ road construction. Experience managing projects with multiple crews operating simultaneously. Strong understanding of construction scheduling, manpower planning, materials, equipment, and field operations. Ability to effectively manage multiple aspects of construction, including safety, quality, productivity, scheduling, and cost control. Working knowledge of both vertical and horizontal construction layout. Ability to read and understand construction plans, specifications, and project documents. Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and under pressure. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite. Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle. Willing to submit to a drug screening and background check.

Physical Requirements:

This position involves regular physical activity, including: Stand and walk for extend periods. Frequent bending, kneeling, and crouching. Pushing and pulling heavy objects. Lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds at a time. Working outdoors for extended periods in extreme hot and cold weather conditions.
