$95,000 - $130,000 per year Job Details - We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Permanent Assistant Superintendent to join our dynamic team in the construction industry. As an Assistant Superintendent, you will be responsible for assisting the Superintendent in coordinating all site construction activities and supervising field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, and with quality workmanship that conforms to the original plans and specifications.
Responsibilities:
1. Assisting the Superintendent in the management of construction activities, ensuring compliance with project schedules, budgets, and quality standards. 2. Overseeing the daily operations at the construction site, including coordinating workers, materials, and equipment, ensuring that specifications are being strictly followed, and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget. 3. Reading and understanding blueprints, building codes, and project scheduling. 4. Ensuring all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety programs, requirements, and work rules. 5. Handling risk management issues by implementing proactive strategies and responding to issues as they arise. 6. Managing subcontractors effectively, ensuring their tasks are completed as expected, and addressing any issues or delays. 7. Working closely with the project team to address any potential obstacles and quickly resolve any issues that may arise. 8. Conducting regular inspections to ensure that the work meets or exceeds standards, that schedules are being followed, and that workers are adhering to safety rules and regulations. 9. Reporting regularly to the Superintendent about project status and issues that may impact client relations. What We're Looking For 1. 2+ years of commercial construction experience 2. Previous experience working in the field for a general contractor 3. Multifamily, residential, or large-scale commercial construction experience preferred 4. Strong understanding of construction plans, schedules, and sequencing 5. Ability to communicate effectively with subcontractors and project teams 6. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills 7. Ability to work in a fast-paced construction environment 8. OSHA 30 certification preferred 9.
