Role Description The Superintendent is a full-time, on-site role based in Rockville, MD, responsible for overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring projects are executed safely, on schedule, and to quality standards. This role coordinates field crews, subcontractors, and material deliveries, while monitoring progress and resolving on-site issues. The Superintendent interprets plans and specifications, conducts site inspections, and collaborates with project managers, architects, and engineers to maintain alignment with design intent and contract requirements. The role includes enforcing safety protocols, maintaining job site documentation, tracking work completion, and communicating project updates to internal stakeholders and clients. The Superintendent also supports scheduling, participates in progress meetings, and contributes to continuous improvement of field operations. Qualifications Demonstrated experience supervising commercial or government construction projects, including coordination of field staff and subcontractors. Strong knowledge of construction methods and materials, especially carpentry, drywall, ceilings, masonry, concrete, and finishing work. Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil drawings and specifications. Proficiency in construction scheduling, site logistics planning, and progress tracking using relevant software tools. Commitment to job site safety, familiarity with OSHA standards, and experience implementing safety plans and inspections. Effective communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate with project managers, design teams, and client representatives. Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities in a fast-paced field environment. Relevant experience with public sector or institutional projects; prior work with local government or educational facilities is a plus. High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in construction management or a related field is preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to work on-site in Rockville, MD on a full-time basis. Salary $90,000 to 150,000 based on experience
