Their primary customers include U.S. federal government agencies throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. They are seeking an experienced Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) to join their growing team and oversee quality management on federal construction projects. Position Overview The Construction Quality Control Manager (CQCM) is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing all quality control activities on assigned construction projects. This individual ensures all work is completed in accordance with contract requirements, project specifications, applicable codes, and established quality standards. The CQCM will oversee the Three-Phase Control Inspection process, maintain quality documentation, coordinate inspections and testing, and work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Site Safety and Health Officers (SSHO), subcontractors, owners, and government representatives to deliver successful projects. Key Responsibilities Maintain responsibility for all construction quality control activities on assigned projects. Conduct preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections for each definable feature of work to ensure compliance with project requirements. Develop a comprehensive understanding of project contracts, subcontract agreements, drawings, specifications, and quality requirements. Assist the Project Manager in developing and implementing site-specific quality control procedures. Create, maintain, and update project submittal logs and all quality control documentation. Review shop drawings, product data, and material submittals to verify compliance with contract documents and project specifications. Collaborate with project team members and subject matter experts to resolve quality-related issues. Lead weekly Quality Control meetings and prepare detailed meeting minutes in accordance with contract requirements. Prepare daily Quality Control reports documenting ongoing construction activities, inspections, deficiencies, corrective actions, and project compliance. Identify non-conforming work and coordinate timely corrective action to maintain project quality standards. Verify that all materials delivered to the project site meet approved submittals, are properly stored, and are suitable for installation. Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning, and acceptance of building systems. Perform quality inspections and testing in accordance with contract requirements, USACE/NAVFAC standards, and company best practices. Maintain complete and accurate quality control records throughout the duration of each project. Qualifications 5-10 years of experience in Construction Quality Control within the commercial or federal construction industry. Previous experience working for a general contractor on vertical construction or building projects. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, building systems, and industry best practices. Working knowledge of construction drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and contract documents. Excellent organizational, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict quality standards. High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant quality control experience and professional certifications may be considered in lieu of additional education.
