Construction Superintendent  Category Construction Operations Job Location 4600 River Road, Suite 200, College Park, Maryland Additional Locations 4600 River Road, Suite 200, College Park, Maryland 13454 Sunrise Valley Dr, Suite 110, Herndon, Virginia 2451 Crystal Drive, Suite 775, Arlington, Virginia Position Type Full-Time/Regular As a 'National ENR Top 25 General Contractor' that values its employees and fosters a positive and supportive culture, Whiting-Turner is seeking qualified field supervision for various commercial projects in a fast paced, entrepreneurial, team-based working environment. Qualified candidates shall possess 5 to 20+ years of experience in the industry and a track record for delivering complex projects without delays and emphasis on delighting the customer. Proven ability to implement and maintain full control of all field matters while enforcing safety, adherence to schedule and maintaining quality expectations on site. The following experience and skill set are preferred:
  • Strong commitment to promoting safety including certifications comparable to OSHA 30.
  • Ability to be a leader and a mentor as part of diverse team.
  • Effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of construction principles and ambition to succeed/advance.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Practitioner of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience with scheduling methodologies and software.
  • Experience managing financial impacts on site.
  • Ability to interpret and implement technical specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, product/material installation instructions and engineering/architectural drawings.
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent experience in construction management, construction technology, an engineering discipline or engineering technology.
  • The base salary range for this position represents the Company's good faith and reasonable estimate at the time of posting and is dependent on a number of factors including but not limited to role, level, relevant education, experience, training, skills and abilities, location, and market and business considerations.
Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of the various factor identified above. The foregoing information reflects base salary only and does not include other forms of available compensation to which employees may be entitled including but not limited to profit sharing, appreciation rights, retirement compensation, travel subsistence, holiday contribution, vacation, sick leave, parental leave, healthcare (including dental and vision benefits), life insurance, disability insurance, and other compensations/benefits, which are dependent upon various factors including but not limited to years of service, location, performance, etc. The annual base salary range listed is subject to change at any time, in the Company's discretion, and does not alter in any way the at-will nature of the employment relationship.
