The MEP Manager assures that Grunley Construction subcontractors provide the highest quality of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction services in accordance with project specific cost and schedule requirements.
Reports to:
Project Executive Required Education Engineering, Construction Management, or Business (or equivalent work experience) Required Experience Minimum of five (5) years of construction experience with working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction procedures and practices. This position requires a successful track record in all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing construction. Experience dealing with MEP subcontractors. Prior history managing staff. Required Skills Experience with construction project management software (Procore and P6) General understanding of Building Codes, Mechanical Codes, Electrical Codes and Plumbing Codes as they relate to construction of project
Responsibilities/Duties Planning:
As it pertains to MEP trades - Achieve a detailed understanding of the: Contract documents (drawings and specifications) Phasing plans MEP systems interrelationships Construction sequencing Project schedule Coordination Lead the composite coordination drawings process and facilitate problem solving, as may arise, between MEP subcontractors during the coordination drawings process. Validate design issues and develop suggested alternative solutions before forwarding them to the PM Assistance to design and construction team as appropriate Assist the design team in resolution of MEP issues Assist PM in receipt and review of MEP submittals Log and post all MEP changes and as-built information on field drawings Assist PM with scope review, budgeting, and justification of MEP change order work Supervision Supervise the installation of MEP work, and other work as deemed appropriate by management. Lead periodic (as warranted by the job) on site coordination meetings with the subcontractors' foremen Participate in all meetings conducted by the Superintendent with foremen Supervise the testing and commissioning of new MEP equipment. Other compensation opportunities may include incentive bonuses, paid holidays, company training, and tuition assistance. Comprehensive benefits will be discussed during the recruitment process; base salaries will be determined by skills, position, education. experience, market consideration, and geographic location. The salary range for this role will be $120,000.00-$185,000.00.
