Structural Buildings of MN, Inc is looking for Construction Field Superintendents to join our team! About Us Structural Buildings of MN, Inc. has been constructing dreams throughout Minnesota and the surrounding 5 State area since 1985. At Structural Buildings we design and construct a wide array of building types from post-frame, steel-frame, masonry, stud wall frame, SIP panel, and tilt-up concrete; ensuring our ability to provide the best type of building to meet all of our customer's needs. Job Responsibilities Perform Superintendent duties at multiple job sites, simultaneously, that include but are not limited to: Document and track the progress of each project, inspect ongoing work, attain all necessary permits, and perform as a hands-on manager. Hold pre-construction meeting at the start of each project with Salesperson and Foreman; Participate in daily scheduling meetings. Evaluate start and completion dates and specifications for building plans. Arrange for the necessary equipment and supplies needed to complete the job while keeping construction project costs at or under budget. Evaluate job sites prior to the delivery of materials; verify the correct materials have been dropped before construction starts. Coordinate execution of construction change orders and punch list items. Once work is finished, perform a final inspection with the customer to ensure all items are completed as per contract. Perform Superintendent duties to manage the crews that include but are not limited to: Provide initial and ongoing training to the crews, lead with a growth mindset. Assist with identifying and hiring qualified subcontractors; verify accuracy of subcontractor invoices for payment in a timely manner. Work with production scheduling to assign proper crew to proper project. Evaluate staffing requirements for each phase of the construction project. Ensure the subcontractors are fully executing and complying with their contracted scope of work. Perform quality control duties and responsibilities regarding the work being performed. Use company software to account for time spent on specific job. Job Qualifications Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, work orders, and purchase orders. Considerable knowledge on construction processes and the use of tools.
Strong communication skills:
ability to interact effectively with customers, vendors, and employees at all levels of the organization.
Excellent organizational skills:
thorough and attentive to details, able to prioritize and multitask, proactive, and deadline oriented. Ample managerial experience; competent with laptops, tablets, and smart phones. Safety Requirements Abide by and apply Structural Buildings safety and construction procedures, methods, and standards to every building, every day. Willingness to maintain and operate construction and hand tools in a safe and proper manner. Capable of working in a physically demanding environment and at various heights (up to 40 feet) from ladders and aerial work platforms primarily working outside.
