The Supervisor of Adult Basic Education (ABE) serves as the primary systems leader for a large-scale, 30-district regional consortium. Moving beyond traditional classroom management, this role is designed for an educational administrator and project manager who can expertly balance the complexities of state-level grant compliance with the delivery of high-quality, community-responsive educational programs. The Supervisor is responsible for the financial, operational, and strategic health of the consortium, ensuring all programming meets federal and state regulatory standards while expanding access for adult learners across Central Minnesota.ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Fiscal and Grant Management in Partnership with District Business Services- Serve as the financial steward for federal (WIOA) and state funding
- Oversee complex budget distribution across member districts
- Ensure rigorous compliance with all state and federal regulations
- Analyze and report data to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) to validate performance and secure ongoing funding Comprehensive Personnel Leadership and Supervision
Direct Supervisory Authority:
Provide direct, active, and consistent supervision of all licensed teaching staff and non-licensed support staffPerformance Evaluations:
Maintain full responsibility for the formal evaluation process for all staffOn-Site and Off-Site Oversight:
Exercise diligent oversight of personnel regardless of location. Establish and maintain regular contact with staff at remote and off-site locations to ensure uniform quality of instruction, operational consistency, and staff engagementProfessional Development:
Coordinate and lead regional professional development to ensure high-quality delivery of ESL, GED, and digital literacy instructionCulture and Talent Management:
Build and support a high-performing team by recruiting top talent, facilitating onboarding, managing performance concerns, and providing the ongoing coaching and mentorship necessary for staff excellence Program Design and Innovation- Provide oversight for curriculum development and career pathway alignment
- Identify opportunities to integrate new technologies and hybrid/remote learning models to increase reach in rural districts
- Build and maintain strategic partnerships with workforce centers, chambers of commerce, and local employers Operations and Community Outreach
- Act as the public face of the consortium, providing system navigation support for students and member districts
- Promote ABE services across the region to ensure equitable access
- Advocate for Adult Education priorities with superintendents, elected officials, and community stakeholders
