Funston Company is a locally owned and operated site construction company that has been in business for over twenty years. Funston Company is based out of Leland, NC and services developers, general contractors and municipalities throughout southeastern North Carolina.
Description of Tasks:
The following is an abbreviated list of tasks: Safety is the top priority. Follow, implement, and enforce safety policies, (i.e., job safety meetings, proper use of safety equipment, compliance by subs/suppliers, etc.) Recognizes potential safety risks on job site and rectify risks per company policy Assembles crew members for morning & evening meetings to discuss the schedule and tasks for that day and plan for the next day Have a working knowledge of each crew member's skill level, ability to learn and receive information Working in efficient manner, using schedules, effective decision-making skills Help coordinate jobs with any subcontractors as needed Complete all paperwork thoroughly and accurately Ensures that all equipment is checked and serviced per equipment policies prior to using it on a job site Assists in training, motivating, counseling and monitoring the performance of field staff including written evaluations Attends and participates in all company or departmental meetings Maintains updated technical knowledge on company equipment Maintain a neat and orderly work area Maintain personal appearance in accordance with company policy Show a willingness to learn job site goals and company-wide goals Overseeing Grading Crew Entering time for all crew members
Formal Education :
Highs School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
Skills Required :
Ability to participate in, train and supervise workers operating light, heavy, and special motor equipment Ability to supervise construction projects from general plans and instructions given Ability to determine the proper amounts of various materials, tools, and equipment needed Ability to make minor repairs and adjustments to equipment operated Ability to read engineering plans and blueprints Ability to communicate effectively verbally with supervisor and subordinates Maintains a cooperative working relationship with customers and other employees Has the ability to tactfully handle difficult personnel situations Ability to listen and follow instructions as given Consistently arrives for work at the scheduled time Follow proper procedure for absences from work Valid Driver's License Bilingual in Spanish (recommended)
