Construction Project Manager Bluebird Staffing - 5.0 Raleigh, NC Job Details Full-time $38.17 - $54.88 an hour 5 hours ago Qualifications Stakeholder relationship building Full Job Description Construction Project Manager Bluebird is hiring on behalf of a client for an experienced Construction Project Manager to oversee the development, implementation, coordination, scheduling, budgeting, documentation, turnover, and compliance of construction and facility improvement projects. This is an opportunity to join a large, mission-driven healthcare organization focused on improving the health and well-being of the communities it serves. The ideal candidate will have experience managing construction projects in complex institutional environments. Experience in healthcare, power plants, residential developments, institutional buildings, or similar construction environments is strongly preferred. Position Summary The Construction Project Manager will oversee construction, renovation, upgrade, replacement, and repair projects involving buildings, grounds, facilities, and infrastructure. This role will work closely with internal departments, contractors, architects, engineers, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with applicable design standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Coordinate schedules for in-house trades and contractors working on internal construction and facility projects. Coordinate project schedules, deliveries, installations, inspections, and other activities with requesting departments and facility/engineering teams. Evaluate, troubleshoot, analyze, and manage the correction of technical, system, and construction issues in newly constructed and renovated buildings. Manage warranty issues and coordinate their resolution with contractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders. Implement approved project scopes while establishing and managing budget and schedule limitations. Interview, select, and negotiate fees with architects, engineers, and other design consultants. Coordinate project design with internal departments and design consultants to ensure project requirements are met and designs conform to applicable organizational standards. Review and evaluate architectural and engineering designs and provide comments and recommendations. Coordinate project bidding activities and negotiate construction contracts. Provide construction management services for renovation and construction projects. Coordinate construction activities with internal staff, contractors, and affected departments. Review, negotiate, and approve change orders as appropriate. Monitor and approve construction schedules and project budgets. Inspect completed and ongoing work to ensure conformance with project requirements, user needs, design documents, and applicable jurisdictional requirements. Maintain project budgets and communicate costs, schedule changes, scope changes, risks, and project issues to senior leadership. Identify and clearly define operational impacts to affected departments and ensure appropriate scheduling, staffing, and coordination. Maintain open and direct communication with all departments affected by construction activities, including project support and ancillary departments. Serve as the Owner's Representative and represent the client's interests throughout all aspects of assigned projects. Develop and maintain project documentation required for organizational policy and regulatory compliance, including risk assessments, project inspection logs, and documentation associated with state, federal, and credentialing agency inspections. Establish and oversee project turnover to operations. Ensure all required closeout documentation, materials, and deliverables are received and completed. Support department operations, planning, budgeting, and implementation activities. Oversee project design and development from initial concept through completion. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Professional Experience Experience requirements may vary based on education level:
Bachelor's Degree:
6+ years of progressive experience in construction administration, building construction, or project engineering in institutional buildings.
Associate's Degree:
10+ years of progressive experience in construction administration, building construction, or project engineering in institutional buildings.
High School Diploma/GED:
14+ years of progressive experience in construction administration, building construction, or project engineering in institutional buildings. Experience in construction involving the following environments is strongly preferred: Healthcare facilities Power plants Residential apartment complexes or large-scale residential developments Institutional buildings Commercial or other complex construction environments Licensure & Certifications No specific license or certification required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of construction management practices. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings, plans, and specifications. Demonstrated knowledge of building construction principles, practices, and standards. Working knowledge of project management practices and methodologies. Understanding of applicable building codes and jurisdictional requirements. Strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract management skills. Ability to identify and resolve technical and construction-related issues. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to coordinate multiple contractors, consultants, departments, and project stakeholders. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to manage projects while balancing scope, budget, schedule, quality, and operational requirements.
