We create and maintain exceptional landscapes for discerning clients and are known for high-quality work, professionalism and a commitment to doing things the right way. We are looking for an experienced Landscape Construction Production Manager to take ownership of the production side of our Construction Division. This is a key leadership position within BTS. You will work with an experienced team that includes sales/design, estimating, contract administration, a Construction Superintendent and established field crews. Your responsibility is to bring those resources together to deliver exceptional projects, a great customer experience and strong financial results. The Role Once a project is sold, you own its successful execution. You will lead the production side of the Construction Division, overseeing multiple landscape construction projects and field crews from sales-to-production handoff through final completion. The Construction Superintendent will report directly to you, and you will be responsible for coaching, developing and holding the Superintendent and field teams accountable for their results. This role includes production planning and scheduling, customer communication, field-team leadership, purchasing and subcontractor coordination, quality control, job financial performance and problem solving. We are looking for someone who understands landscape construction but, equally important, knows how to lead people, manage customers, stay organized and hold a team accountable. Key Responsibilities Take ownership of landscape construction projects following the sale through successful completion. Lead the sales-to-production handoff and ensure projects are properly prepared before crews arrive. Develop and manage short- and long-term production schedules across multiple crews and projects. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during construction and proactively communicate schedules, progress, changes and expectations. Directly manage, coach and hold accountable the Construction Superintendent. Partner with the Superintendent to build, develop and maintain a high-performing field team. Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors and other resources required to successfully execute projects. Monitor labor hours, project costs, gross profit and overall job performance against estimate and budget. Identify problems early and take corrective action to protect schedule, quality, customer experience and profitability. Ensure work is completed in accordance with BTS quality standards and customer expectations. Coordinate purchasing and subcontractors to achieve quality standards while meeting project budgets. Work with estimating and operations to improve estimating accuracy, production standards and operating procedures. Manage change orders, warranty issues, collections and project closeout. Help recruit, develop and retain a high-performing Construction team. Maintain accountability for Construction vehicles, equipment and production resources in partnership with the Superintendent. Play an active leadership role in BTS's commercial snow and ice operation during the winter season. What We're Looking For 5+ years of landscape construction or related construction experience preferred. Experience managing multiple construction projects and field crews simultaneously. Demonstrated ability to lead, coach and hold employees accountable. Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, materials and sequencing. Ability to read and understand landscape plans, specifications and project scopes. Understanding of job costing, labor budgets, gross margin and project financial performance. Strong planning, organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent customer communication and relationship-management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with sales, estimating, administration and field operations. Comfortable using technology and construction/operations management software. Valid driver's license. A college degree in construction management, landscape architecture, horticulture, business or a related field is a plus, but relevant experience and demonstrated leadership matter more to us. Who Will Be Successful Here This position is a good fit for someone who takes ownership and is proactive. You should be comfortable moving between customers, field teams, project schedules and financial information throughout the day. You should enjoy developing people, solving problems and creating accountability. You don't need to be the best landscape technician on the team. You do need enough construction knowledge to earn the team's respect, recognize problems and make good decisions — and the leadership ability to get results through other people. We are looking for someone who wants responsibility, enjoys building strong teams and systems, and takes pride in being accountable for the results of the Construction Division.
