Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator - Environmental Remediation General Contracting Group LLC Upper Saddle River, NJ Job Details Full-time $65,000 - $85,000 a year 1 hour ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Spanish Project engineering English Schedule management Driver's License Full Job Description Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator Environmental Remediation and Selective Demolition General Contracting Group LLC is a growing environmental contracting company specializing in asbestos abatement, lead abatement, mold remediation, selective demolition, and related construction services throughout New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and surrounding areas. We are seeking an organized and experienced Construction Estimator / Project Coordinator to help manage opportunities from the initial bid invitation through project award, setup, documentation, billing support, and closeout. This is primarily an office-based position. It is not a field superintendent role. The right candidate will work directly with the company owner, office administrator, payroll administrator, field supervisors, clients, consultants, and vendors. Key Responsibilities Estimating and Preconstruction Review plans, specifications, surveys, work plans, and bid documents. Perform accurate quantity takeoffs for asbestos, lead, mold, demolition, and restoration work. Request and organize vendor, disposal, equipment, and subcontractor pricing. Prepare estimate worksheets and draft proposals. Track bid invitations, agenda, questions, deadlines, and proposal follow-ups. Identify scope gaps, exclusions, unusual risks, and items requiring clarification. Assist the owner with pricing while the owner retains final pricing approval. Attend occasional site walkthroughs when necessary. Project Coordination Set up awarded projects and organize contract documents. Prepare project handoff information for field supervisors. Track contracts, purchase orders, permits, notifications, submittals, insurance requirements, and required project documentation. Coordinate scheduling information among clients, supervisors, vendors, and office staff. Track change-order work and prepare draft change-order proposals. Maintain project files, photographs, daily documentation, and correspondence. Assist with progress billing, quantity backup, closeout documents, and outstanding paperwork. Escalate schedule, scope, cost, and client issues requiring management decisions. Qualifications At least three years of construction estimating, project coordination, assistant project management, or related experience preferred. Experience with environmental remediation, asbestos, lead, demolition, restoration, or commercial construction is strongly preferred. Ability to read construction plans, specifications, surveys, and scopes of work. Strong Microsoft Excel, Word, email, and document-management skills. Excellent organization and follow-through across multiple active bids and projects. Ability to communicate professionally with clients, consultants, vendors, and field personnel. Comfortable working in a growing company where responsibilities are clearly assigned but priorities may change. Valid driver's license and ability to attend occasional jobsite walkthroughs. Bilingual English and Spanish is helpful but not required. What We Are Looking For We need someone who takes ownership of assignments and follows them through to completion. The ideal candidate can review a bid package, organize the scope, prepare a reliable estimate, identify missing information, and keep the administrative side of an awarded project moving without requiring constant supervision. This position is well suited to an experienced assistant project manager, junior estimator, project engineer, or construction coordinator who is ready to take on greater responsibility and grow with the company.
