Superintendent Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented Superintendent with 4+ years of construction supervision experience, particularly in renovation and commercial interiors projects. In this role, you oversee all on-site construction activities for tenant fit-outs in commercial office parks, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to high-quality standards. You lead on-site teams, coordinate subcontractors and stakeholders, and serve as the primary on-site representative to clients and project partners. Responsibilities Manage and coordinate all on-site construction activities for tenant fit-ups in commercial office parks. Develop, maintain, and enforce detailed project schedules, ensuring milestones and deadlines are met while proactively addressing delays or issues. Conduct regular inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications, building codes, and company quality standards. Implement and enforce strict safety protocols on site, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure compliance with OSHA and local regulations. Supervise, guide, and motivate on-site personnel, subcontractors, and vendors to foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Coordinate subcontractor activities, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to contracts, schedules, and quality expectations. Track on-site costs, monitor material usage, and promptly report budget concerns to the Project Manager. Serve as the primary point of contact between on-site teams, project managers, architects, engineers, and clients, providing clear and regular progress updates. Maintain accurate daily logs, progress reports, and project documentation, including change orders, RFIs, and punch lists. Identify, anticipate, and resolve on-site challenges such as material shortages, design conflicts, or unforeseen conditions with minimal impact on the project timeline. Represent the project professionally to external stakeholders and act as the visible on-site leader throughout project execution. Essential Skills Minimum of 4+ years of construction experience, including direct construction supervision. Proven experience with commercial interiors and renovation projects. Hands-on experience with site construction activities, including multi-family and wood frame construction. Strong understanding of construction management principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to manage subcontractors effectively, including performance, scheduling, and quality oversight. Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and safety compliance on construction sites. Strong computer skills for schedule management, documentation, and communication. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with project managers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients. Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and project timelines simultaneously while maintaining quality and safety standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in tenant fit-ups within commercial office parks. Experience in interiors-focused construction projects. Exposure to project management processes and tools. Ability to maintain detailed daily logs, progress reports, and project documentation. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address material shortages, design conflicts, and unforeseen site conditions. Ability to build positive relationships with external stakeholders and represent projects professionally. Work Environment This role is primarily field-based, with approximately 85% of your time spent on job sites and about 15% in the office. Projects are located within the immediate capital region, focusing on tenant fit-outs in commercial office parks and commercial interiors work. You will work closely with on-site teams, subcontractors, and project leadership in a fast-paced, safety-focused construction environment, with regular coordination meetings and ongoing collaboration across disciplines. The position offers the opportunity to be the visible face of projects to external stakeholders and to contribute to building a growing business in the region. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Latham, NY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
