Core Facility Solutions is seeking an Construction Project Manager with an anticipated start date of approximately October 2026. The primary focus of this position will be HVAC and building controls projects; however, responsibilities may also include roofing, paving, concrete, and other facility improvement projects. The Project Manager will take approved designs and project scopes and coordinate their successful implementation in the field. Responsibilities include subcontractor scheduling and coordination, customer communication, construction oversight, project documentation, schedule management, quality control, commissioning support, and project closeout. This position serves as an important link between the customer, project design team, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, managing multiple projects, solving field issues, and maintaining strong relationships with customers and contractors. The preferred candidate will be located in central or western North Dakota and will work remotely from a home office. Frequent weekly travel to active project sites is required, including multiple overnight stays at or near customer facilities. Primary Responsibilities Project Implementation Review approved project designs, drawings, specifications, estimates, and scopes of work. Develop a clear understanding of project intent and customer expectations before construction begins. Coordinate implementation of the approved design with subcontractors, suppliers, customers, and project stakeholders. Ensure field work is completed in accordance with project drawings, specifications, approved proposals, and contract requirements. Identify discrepancies, conflicts, unforeseen conditions, and potential scope changes. Coordinate with designers, engineers, contractors, and ownership to resolve project issues. Assist with constructability reviews and identify potential scheduling or installation concerns before they affect the project. Subcontractor Coordination and Scheduling Develop and maintain subcontractor construction schedules. Coordinate subcontractor mobilization and sequencing of work. Communicate project requirements, milestones, deadlines, and customer expectations. Coordinate multiple trades to reduce scheduling conflicts and project delays. Monitor subcontractor progress against established schedules. Conduct subcontractor coordination meetings as needed. Follow up on outstanding work, materials, submittals, deficiencies, and project commitments. Ensure subcontractors have the information necessary to complete their work. Coordinate equipment and material deliveries with project schedules. Resolve or assist in resolving conflicts between trades. Customer Support and Communication Serve as a primary point of contact for customers during project implementation. Maintain regular communication regarding project schedules, progress, disruptions, upcoming work, and outstanding decisions. Respond to customer questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner. Coordinate construction activities around building occupancy and customer operations. Explain project activities and technical issues in clear, practical terms. Communicate schedule changes, field conditions, and potential project impacts. Assist with customer training and project turnover when applicable. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with owners, facility personnel, contractors, and other stakeholders. Approach project decisions with the customer's long-term interests in mind. HVAC and Building Controls Projects HVAC and controls projects may include coordination of: Boilers and hydronic heating systems Heat pumps Air-handling units Rooftop units Pumps and piping systems Unit ventilators and terminal equipment Ventilation systems Variable-frequency drives HVAC controls Building automation systems Control valves and dampers Sensors and actuators Equipment integration Electrical work associated with HVAC systems Testing, adjusting, and balancing Equipment startup System commissioning The Project Manager is not necessarily expected to perform controls programming but should have sufficient knowledge of HVAC and building controls to coordinate contractors, understand intended system operation, recognize potential issues, and communicate effectively with controls technicians, engineers, and facility personnel. Other Facility Improvement Projects The Project Manager may also oversee projects involving : Roofing replacement and repair Asphalt paving and parking lot improvements Concrete sidewalks, curbs, slabs, and equipment pads Exterior and site improvements Building envelope improvements Deferred maintenance projects Energy-efficiency improvements Other capital improvement projects as assigned Project Administration Maintain project schedules and milestone dates. Monitor project budgets and committed costs. Review subcontractor proposals and change requests. Assist with preparation and processing of change orders. Review invoices and subcontractor payment requests for accuracy. Track project documentation and correspondence. Maintain meeting notes and project records. Coordinate RFIs, submittals, product information, and project clarifications. Document field conditions and project progress. Maintain organized electronic project files. Assist with preparation of project closeout documentation. Quality Control and Commissioning Conduct regular project site visits. Monitor workmanship and compliance with project requirements. Compare installed work with approved drawings and specifications. Identify incomplete or deficient work. Develop and manage project punch lists. Coordinate corrective work with subcontractors. Participate in equipment startup and commissioning activities. Verify project completion prior to final acceptance. Project Closeout Coordinate completion and collection of applicable closeout documentation, including: Punch-list completion Equipment startup reports Testing and balancing reports Controls documentation As-built information Operation and maintenance manuals Equipment warranties Customer training Commissioning documentation Final subcontractor documentation Project turnover documents Required Qualifications Experience in construction project management, HVAC, mechanical construction, controls, facility construction, or a related field. Ability to read and understand construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work. Experience coordinating subcontractors and construction schedules. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate professionally with customers, contractors, and project stakeholders. Ability to identify field problems and coordinate practical solutions. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and common project-management software. Ability to work effectively from a remote home-office environment. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability and willingness to travel frequently throughout central and western North Dakota. Preferred Qualifications Residence in central or western North Dakota. Commercial HVAC project experience. Building automation or HVAC controls experience. General construction project-management experience. Experience managing roofing, paving, concrete, or facility-improvement projects. Experience working in K-12 schools, municipal facilities, tribal facilities, churches, commercial buildings, or other occupied facilities. Experience reviewing subcontractor bids and proposals. Experience with construction estimating and project cost tracking. Familiarity with building commissioning and project closeout procedures. Experience with energy-efficiency or deferred-maintenance projects. Associate's or bachelor's degree in construction management, HVAC technology, engineering technology, or a related field is beneficial but not required when equivalent experience is demonstrated. Frequent weekly travel to customer facilities and active project sites is required for project meetings, subcontractor coordination, inspections, equipment startup, commissioning, punch-list work, and closeout. Multiple overnight stays may be required based on project location and schedule.
Core Facility Solutions will:

This position may require extended workdays and occasional weekend hours based on project schedules, equipment startup requirements, customer needs, or construction activities. Physical and Environmental Requirements Project work may require exposure to active construction environments and varying field conditions. The employee may be required to: Work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Climb ladders and access rooftops. Enter mechanical rooms and confined or tight spaces. Walk active construction sites and uneven surfaces. Access equipment areas that may be hot, cold, dusty, noisy, or otherwise typical of construction and mechanical environments. Stand, walk, bend, climb, and move throughout project sites for extended periods.
