This position plays a key role in supporting student-athletes both on the field and in the classroom, helping them grow into capable students and competitive athletes.
Key Responsibilities:
Recruit and coach student-athletes for the women's softball program, ensuring compliance with college and conference standards. Advise student-athletes on enrollment, academic success, and personal development, while fostering sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsibility. Plan and supervise practices, conditioning, travel, game preparation, and equipment management. Assist with fundraising efforts to support scholarships and program expenses. Support departmental initiatives and perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics. The successful candidate will bring strong recruiting skills, a passion for coaching, and a commitment to the holistic development of student-athletes. Experience in intercollegiate athletics and the ability to foster a positive, team-centered culture are highly valued.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED Effective public and interpersonal communication skills. Knowledge of a specific sport's concepts/strategies and NJCAA rules and regulations. Recruiting skills and ability to assess athletic talent. Leadership and motivational skills, and the ability to serve as a positive role model. Ability to sell the College and its athletic program to potential students. Ability to organize and implement fundraising projects. Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.), email, and electronic calendar. Ability to build and sustain a successful intercollegiate athletic program.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Appropriate associate or bachelor's degree.
