The ideal candidate will bring significant experience managing construction projects in complex institutional environments, with healthcare, power plant, residential, commercial, or other large-scale construction experience strongly preferred. Position Summary The Senior Construction Project Manager is responsible for the oversight and successful delivery of complex construction and facility projects, including development, implementation, coordination, scheduling, budgeting, documentation, turnover, and regulatory compliance. Projects may include new construction, renovations, upgrades, replacements, repairs, infrastructure improvements, and other capital or facility improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Develop and manage construction and facility operations, including operating and capital improvement budgets. Develop and implement design and construction standards, processes, and procedures. Develop project concepts, programs, scopes, schedules, and budgets for proposed projects. Analyze project requests and conduct research to determine feasibility, scope, budget requirements, and recommended delivery approach. Present project recommendations, budgets, and project plans to senior leadership for consideration and approval. Manage and direct design and construction activities across capital improvement projects, facility improvement projects, in-house construction projects, and feasibility studies. Serve as the Owner's Representative and advocate for the client's interests throughout the project lifecycle. Provide leadership and direction to professional, technical, construction, and trade personnel. Plan, organize, and direct team activities while establishing performance expectations, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress. Coordinate interior renovation requests and work with internal teams and in-house construction resources to develop and execute project delivery plans. Coordinate project approvals, prioritization, scheduling, and resource allocation with leadership and relevant stakeholders. Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including risk assessments, inspection records, project reports, and compliance documentation. Coordinate inspections and ensure projects meet applicable organizational, state, federal, and regulatory requirements. Manage project turnover to operations and ensure all required closeout documentation, materials, and deliverables are completed and received. Support personnel management activities, including interviewing, hiring recommendations, performance management, and development of job expectations and descriptions. Establish project priorities and assist with cost estimating, budgeting, and resource planning. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline required. Professional Experience 10+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, construction, or facility project management within institutional or complex building environments. At least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or lead role. Strong construction experience is highly preferred, particularly within: Healthcare facilities Power plants or utility infrastructure Residential apartment complexes or large-scale residential developments Institutional buildings Commercial or other complex construction environments Licensure & Certifications No specific license or certification required. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of construction and project management principles and practices. Demonstrated ability to prepare cost estimates, develop project budgets, and establish project priorities. Strong leadership, supervision, and team management skills. Experience with employee hiring, performance management, and team development. Excellent organizational and documentation skills. Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills. Knowledge of regulatory, safety, inspection, and compliance requirements associated with institutional construction projects.
