Superintendent - Commercial Construction

Construction Superintendent — Commercial Projects Hood Construction | Full-Time | On-Site in Columbia, SC About the Role Hood Construction is hiring an experienced Commercial Construction Superintendent to lead field operations on projects ranging from healthcare and education to hospitality and historic renovations. You'll be the primary on-site leader — keeping schedules on track, crews aligned, and quality standards high from preconstruction through punch list. What You'll Do Direct all daily field operations from preconstruction through punch list Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and inspection coordination Monitor project schedule, control costs, and flag risks early Review and interpret drawings, specs, and contract documents Run site meetings and maintain clear communication with project teams and clients Conduct quality control checks and document daily progress in Procore or similar software Lead and develop field personnel, managing multi-trade workflows Enforce and uphold all jobsite safety requirements What You Bring 5-7 years of experience supervising commercial construction projects Proven record leading teams through complex, multi-trade scopes Strong working knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and construction sequencing Proficiency with Procore, PlanGrid, or comparable construction management platforms Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Compensation & Benefits Competitive salary based on experience Health, dental, vision, and life insurance 401(k) with generous company match Paid time off and paid holidays Company vehicle for work-related travel Ongoing training and professional development Our Work Hood Construction builds across a diverse portfolio — healthcare, education, hospitality, municipal, and historic renovation projects — each one contributing to the communities we serve.
