About Master Steel Master Steel is a structural steel fabricator and erector based in Hardeeville, South Carolina. We are growing our in-house erection division and expanding our field leadership team. Joining now means getting in early with a company that values its people and is investing in long-term growth. About the Role The Field Manager runs day-to-day operations on active jobsites, managing crews, schedule, safety, and quality. You will report to the Senior Field Manager and work closely with Project Managers to deliver projects on time and on budget. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the jobsite and takes pride in building things right. Key Responsibilities Manage daily field operations on assigned projects, including crew scheduling, task sequencing, and workflow coordination Enforce jobsite safety standards and conduct daily toolbox talks with crew members Coordinate with Project Managers on material deliveries, change orders, and schedule updates Supervise erection crews and subcontractors, providing clear direction and resolving issues in real time Inspect completed work for compliance with structural drawings, specifications, and quality standards Maintain accurate daily reports, safety logs, and progress documentation Communicate proactively with the Senior Field Manager on project status, risks, and resource needs Qualifications Required 3+ years of experience in field supervision (Foreman, Field Manager, Superintendent, or similar role) Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and shop tickets Strong communication and crew leadership skills Valid driver's license; willingness to travel regionally as needed Preferred Experience running structural steel erection or related ironwork projects Familiarity with construction technology platforms such as Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar tools OSHA 30-Hour certification or equivalent safety training What Success Looks Like Assigned projects run safely, on schedule, and within budget Crews are well-organized, clearly directed, and productive each day Daily reports and safety documentation are accurate and submitted on time Issues are identified early and resolved before they impact the schedule or budget Strong working relationships with crews, subcontractors, and project teams Compensation & Benefits $85,000 to $100,000 annual base salary Performance-based bonuses Company truck with fuel card 401(k) with company match Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance 10 days PTO plus 8 paid holidays Relocation assistance available How to Apply Please do not apply in person or contact our office directly.
