Job Overview:

Tractor Town is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our growing Service Department in the repair of agricultural tractors and light construction equipment. Our Service Dept. has 3 focus areas: #1 we are an Authorized Yanmar Tractor & Ferris Mower dealer, #2 servicing and/or inspecting used tractors, light construction equipment and some utv's before resale (400+ year), and #3 providing outside repair service for various makes and models of tractors and light construction equipment. This position is responsible for the oversight and direction of service repairs for all 3 of these areas to include: open/close work orders, assign daily work priorities, possibly select a Shop Foreman to assign personnel work orders and working with the Parts Dept. for in-house repairs. The Service Manager is also the primary POC for customer interactions for external service as well and being sure someone is updating them on their status which our DMS software lets them check their status online daily. And also in-house addressing any mechanical issues that surface on new or used equipment with the sales staff and continuing to improve quality control.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervise all Service Department personnel Open and close work orders for control of each shop job Interact with customers via phone and on-site to ensure customer satisfaction Schedule and monitor equipment pick-up/delivery when required Stay current with Yanmar & Ferris product improvement programs Assist shop personnel with technical questions, parts research & locating technical publications Maintain a daily status board for all equipment on-site to include outbound equipment sales Monitor costs associated with labor, parts, equipment, and overheads, and implement cost-saving measures where possible. Report shop status to company management In conjunction with a chosen shop foreman if you prefer monitor technician training needs and address as necessary Interview, select and mentor qualified personnel for Service Department Continue to improve Service Dept. and technician accountability and productivity. Monitor weekly timecards for shop personnel Identify shop equipment and/or supply needs with company management

Qualifications and Skills:

3-4 years agriculture or equipment dealership experience required 2-year certificate from college or technical school. College degree preferred Tractor and/or equipment service experience may be substituted or combined with education Excellent written & communication skills. Fast computer and keyboard skills. Efficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and general computer skills Ability to multi-task and problem solve on the fly along with a sharp memory. Prior technician experience is highly sought after
