What You'll Do As Assistant Construction Manager, you'll support Construction Managers across multiple transportation projects—coordinating field activities, administering plans, and maintaining communication between clients, inspectors, and engineers to keep work on schedule and to spec. Determine labor requirements and dispatch workers to construction sites. Coordinate the work of colleagues on construction sites and support day-to-day field logistics. Attend weekly project progress meetings to discuss current and potential issues. Ensure proper administration of project plans and documentation; maintain accurate progress records. Respond to client suggestions and complaints promptly and drive resolution. Perform testing procedures (e.g., density testing of soils/aggregates, concrete testing, asphalt materials testing). Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs. Engage in ongoing self-education and training to keep up with industry trends and changes. Perform responsibilities consistent with ethical engineering standards outlined in the company handbook. Perform other duties or responsibilities as assigned.
Who We're Looking For:
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management with two years of experience OR Technical school graduate with 4 years of experience Possession of a valid state-issued driver's license and required auto insurance Construction testing certifications (e.g. ESPC, hotmix, concrete, OSHA, etc.) preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). General knowledge of state and/or local construction and building guidelines and roadway construction practices (reconstruction, rehabilitation, pavement management). Ability to interpret highway contracts, special provisions, plans, and specifications; read technical drawings and related documents. Strong interpersonal skills with clear written and verbal communication; detail orientation and sound judgment/decision-making. What We Offer 100% Employee-Owned
