Job Description

Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Quality Control Manager for a well known Food & Beverage manufacturing site in Memphis, TN. Typical duties of a Quality Control Manager include:
  • Manages the quality function by providing work direction for quality analysts, quality control supervisors and various levels of inspectors. They are responsible for directing technical activities of assigned laboratory areas.
  • Develops site and department policies and procedures.
  • Establishes, monitors and maintains a quality control system.
  • Participates in the development of new technical procedures.
  • Identifies critical points in the manufacturing process and defines sampling procedure.
  • Determines types of tests to be performed as well as documentation and reporting requirements.
  • Directs quality control program to ensure laboratory activities comply with organization and regulatory agency standards.
  • Interacts regularly with engineering, manufacturing and service functions to establish quality standards for raw material, work in process and finished products.
  • Ensures laboratory personnel maintain current knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures and equipment operation.
  • Initiate lab safety policies and provide safety leadership
  • Ensures GMP standards are upheld and manages janitorial teams in all facilities
  • Communicates all RCA's and presentations that reference food safety events and in our environmental management program.
  • Facilitates weekly GMP and QA Gemba Walks
  • Manages Food Safety Program and tasks associated with it (i.e… rain leaks and mitigation, breach protocols, etc….)
  • Facilitates all customer audits within the site and warehouses

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science or related fields.
  • 10 years or more in a chemical, food and/or beverage manufacturing industry
  • Must have SQF audit experience.
