Job Description

Job Description Upchurch is seeking a Mechanical Superintendent to lead on-site execution of complex mechanical projects for clients in professional, scientific, and technical sectors. In this role, you will supervise field crews and subcontractors, manage installation and commissioning of mechanical systems, and ensure work meets design, quality, and safety standards. You will coordinate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients, interpret drawings and specifications, and proactively resolve field issues. This position offers exposure to diverse projects, mentorship from experienced professionals, and clear pathways for advancement in a collaborative, client-focused environment. Responsibilities Lead on-site installation and commissioning of mechanical systems for client projects. Supervise mechanical crews and subcontractors to ensure quality, safety, and productivity. Interpret plans, specifications, and technical documents to guide field work. Coordinate daily activities, resources, and sequencing with project managers and engineers. Monitor project progress, resolve field issues, and escalate risks as needed. Enforce safety standards, conduct site inspections, and ensure regulatory compliance. Verify mechanical work against drawings and specifications; oversee testing and punch lists. Collaborate with clients, inspectors, and vendors to address technical and scheduling needs. Track materials, equipment usage, and field changes; support cost and schedule control. Document site activities, prepare reports, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
