Job Overview We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of heavy civil construction projects, including excavation, grading, and site preparation. This role is responsible for managing the full project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with field teams, clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders while leveraging modern construction technologies and equipment to improve project efficiency. Key Responsibilities Lead project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation to ensure successful project delivery Oversee heavy civil construction projects, including excavation, grading, earthworks, and site development activities Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards Monitor project performance, identify risks, and implement proactive solutions to maintain schedule, budget, and quality objectives Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular project updates and managing stakeholder expectations Support and train field personnel in the effective use of advanced construction technologies and equipment where applicable Analyse project data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and increased operational efficiency Manage subcontractor and supplier relationships, including contract negotiations and coordination throughout the project lifecycle Assist with preconstruction activities, including quantity take-offs, vendor solicitations, material pricing, and estimating support Oversee project documentation, including submittals, close-out documentation, and contract administration Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline Minimum of 2 years' experience in construction project management, including at least 1 year managing heavy civil, earthworks, or site development projects Demonstrated experience delivering projects involving heavy equipment and earth-moving operations with project values ranging from £50,000 to approximately £20 million (or equivalent) Strong knowledge of earthworks construction methods, equipment, materials, and site operations Experience using project management and scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms Preferred Skills & Experience Experience working with construction automation, robotics, GPS machine control, or other advanced construction technologies Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to mentor and develop project teams Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to project challenges Experience working in a startup, high-growth, or fast-paced environment where adaptability and ownership are essential Additional Requirements Willingness to work extended hours or weekends when required to meet critical project deadlines or support urgent operational needs Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Willingness to relocate or travel as required based on project location Must have the legal right to work in the
