SEED Build and Civil Construction, LLC is seeking a qualified and highly motivated Traveling Construction Superintendent to join our growing team. Our company specializes in delivering high-quality civil construction commercial services, including site preparation, wet and dry utilities, concrete construction, and infrastructure improvements. The Traveling Superintendent will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all phases of construction projects at various job sites. This individual will ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and company standards. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with civil construction experience who is comfortable traveling and managing projects across multiple locations. Travel is required for this position.
Responsibilities The Traveling Superintendent will:
Manage and oversee daily field operations on assigned commercial construction projects. Travel to project locations as needed and maintain an on-site presence throughout project execution. Have a thorough understanding of project contracts, plans, specifications, schedules, permits, and project requirements. Coordinate and supervise field personnel, subcontractors, vendors, and equipment resources. Develop and maintain project schedules to ensure milestones and completion dates are met. Collaborate with Project Managers, clients, engineers, inspectors, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. Coordinate material deliveries and equipment mobilization to support project schedules. Monitor productivity, quality control, and project costs while implementing efficient construction practices. Identify and resolve field issues, conflicts, and unforeseen site conditions. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Enforce all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety requirements. Lead daily safety meetings and promote a culture of safety and accountability. Prepare daily reports, progress updates, photographs, and other project documentation. Assist with project planning, staffing, logistics, and resource allocation for multiple projects. Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and project teams. Set a professional example by maintaining organized, clean, and compliant job sites, including proper waste management and environmental protection practices. Qualifications and Skills Minimum 3+ years of experience in civil construction required. Previous experience as a Superintendent, Foreman, or similar construction leadership role preferred. Experience in site development, underground utilities, earthwork, and concrete construction. Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documentation. Knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices. Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing project demands. Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint. Ability to effectively coordinate crews, subcontractors, equipment, and materials. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Reliable transportation and valid driver's license required. Ability to travel extensively and work at project locations for extended periods as needed. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred but not required. Physical Requirements Ability to walk uneven terrain and active construction sites. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, climb, and perform site inspections throughout the workday. Candidates must be willing and able to travel for extended periods depending on project requirements.
