Job Description

Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Utility Superintendent to lead and oversee utility construction projects within the infrastructure sector. This dynamic role involves managing large-scale construction operations, coordinating teams, ensuring safety compliance, and delivering projects on time and within budget. As a key leader, you will drive project success through effective management of resources, adherence to construction regulations, and meticulous oversight of technical and safety standards. Your expertise will help shape critical utility systems that serve communities and industries alike. Responsibilities Lead and supervise utility construction crews, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality workmanship across all project phases. Coordinate project schedules using construction management software such as Primavera P6 and HeavyBid, aligning timelines with project goals. Review and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to ensure accurate execution of pipeline, electrical, or other utility installations. Manage contracts, change orders, and procurement processes via tools like ProCore, Prolog, and Bluebeam to maintain project scope and budget control. Enforce strict adherence to OSHA standards and federal construction safety regulations to maintain a safe work environment for all personnel. Oversee quality control measures, conducting inspections with tools like ohmmeters to verify electrical integrity and system performance. Collaborate with project managers on scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and progress reporting to ensure timely project delivery. Supervise subcontractors and vendors, fostering clear communication and accountability throughout the construction process. Conduct regular site inspections to monitor safety compliance, environmental considerations, and adherence to construction regulations. Review technical drawings and specifications for accuracy; interpret complex engineering documents for team implementation. Qualifications Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction management with a focus on utility or pipeline projects. Strong knowledge of construction management software including Primavera P6, ProCore, Bluebeam, Prolog, HeavyBid, and Primavera. Demonstrated ability to manage teams in a construction management role with excellent supervisory skills. Familiarity with OSHA standards, federal safety regulations, and construction safety management practices. Skilled in blueprint reading, interpreting technical drawings, project scheduling, and construction drawing review. Experience supervising crews on large-scale projects involving pipelines or utility infrastructure. Effective managerial communication skills for managing multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams. Ability to oversee budgeting processes while maintaining quality control standards; experience with cost estimating tools is a plus. Knowledge of construction regulations related to commercial projects; familiarity with Ohmmeters for electrical testing is desirable.
