Commercial Painting Superintendent Bundren Painting Job Type:
Full-Time Location:
Houston, Texas and surrounding project locations Job Summary Bundren Painting is hiring an experienced Commercial Painting Superintendent to oversee field operations for our commercial painting projects. The Superintendent will manage Foremen and painting crews, coordinate manpower, monitor job progress, maintain quality standards, enforce safety requirements, and work closely with Project Managers to keep projects on schedule. We are looking for someone with strong commercial painting experience who understands production, labor management, coatings, jobsite coordination, and crew leadership. This is a field leadership position. You will regularly visit active jobsites and be responsible for holding field teams accountable for safety, productivity, workmanship, attendance, and company expectations. Responsibilities Oversee multiple commercial painting projects and field crews. Supervise and support Foremen, painters, helpers, and subcontractors. Coordinate manpower needs with Project Managers. Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope of work. Plan daily and weekly field activities. Establish production expectations with Foremen and crews. Monitor labor hours, manpower, productivity, materials, and job progress. Identify delays, manpower shortages, material issues, and production problems. Communicate project concerns to the Project Manager before they affect the schedule. Coordinate painting activities with general contractors and other trades. Attend project and jobsite meetings as required. Conduct routine jobsite inspections. Monitor workmanship and correct quality issues. Coordinate materials, equipment, aerial lifts, and tools needed for upcoming work. Maintain communication with Project Managers regarding schedule, production, manpower, and field conditions. Monitor project punch lists and completion of corrective work. Assist with project startup, mobilization, sequencing, and closeout. Maintain accurate field reports and job documentation. Hold Foremen and field employees accountable for company policies and job expectations. Assist management with employee performance issues when necessary. Coach and develop Foremen and other field employees. Maintain professional relationships with customers, general contractors, vendors, and project teams. Safety Responsibilities The Superintendent is responsible for promoting and enforcing Bundren Painting's safety requirements in the field.
Responsibilities include:
Conducting routine jobsite safety inspections. Addressing unsafe conditions and work practices immediately. Confirming employees use required PPE. Enforcing fall protection, ladder, scaffold, and aerial lift requirements. Supporting toolbox talks and pre-task safety planning. Coordinating with the Safety Manager regarding hazards and corrective actions. Reporting accidents, injuries, near misses, and property damage according to company procedures. Holding Foremen and employees accountable for safety violations. Qualifications Minimum 5 years of commercial painting or related construction experience preferred. Previous experience as a Superintendent, General Superintendent, Foreman, or similar field leadership position. Strong knowledge of commercial painting operations. Knowledge of paints, coatings, primers, application methods, surface preparation, and painting equipment. Experience supervising multiple crews and Foremen. Ability to read construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and project documents. Strong understanding of construction safety requirements. Ability to plan manpower and monitor production. Ability to identify labor and scheduling problems. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to work directly with Project Managers, general contractors, and field personnel. Basic computer and smartphone skills for email, schedules, reports, and project documentation. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Reliable transportation. Ability to travel between jobsites throughout the Houston area and other project locations as required. Preferred Qualifications OSHA 30 certification. Experience managing large commercial painting projects. Experience with aerial lifts, scaffolding, and fall protection. Experience overseeing multiple active projects. Bilingual English and Spanish communication skills are a plus. What We Expect From Our Superintendent We need a Superintendent who will take ownership of field operations.

Lead employees without constant direction. Hold Foremen accountable for their projects. Know what is happening on your jobsites. Recognize production problems early. Manage manpower based on project needs. Communicate clearly with Project Managers. Maintain high workmanship standards. Address performance problems instead of allowing them to continue. Enforce safety requirements consistently. Represent Bundren Painting professionally on every project. Physical Requirements This position requires regular work at active construction sites.
You must be able to:
Stand and walk for extended periods. Walk through active construction areas. Climb stairs and ladders. Bend, kneel, reach, and inspect work areas. Work indoors and outdoors in varying jobsite and weather conditions. Wear required PPE. Safely access scaffolds, lifts, and elevated work areas when required. Lift and carry materials or equipment associated with normal jobsite activities.
Compensation and Benefits Pay:
Competitive salary based on commercial painting and superintendent experience.

Pay:
$70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
