Job Title:

Superintendent Position Overview The Superintendent leads and takes full ownership of daily field operations to ensure all construction activities are performed safely, on schedule, in compliance with project plans and specifications, and within budget. This role directly supervises field personnel; drives the project schedule; enforces the site safety program; maintains quality control standards; and serves as the primary on-site liaison between field crews, project management, property managers, and owners. The Superintendent proactively identifies and resolves field issues, manages material logistics, and ensures every project is completed to the highest standard of quality and customer satisfaction. Duties and Responsibilities Other duties may be assigned. Site Leadership & Quality Control — Inspect each job site daily to ensure quality of workmanship, verify all work conforms to plans and specifications, and assess progress against the production schedule. Directly accountable for the final quality of every completed project. Inspections & Close-Out — Schedule and lead all jurisdictional inspections; walk each completed project before the client walk-through and closing sign-off, verifying the project is complete, clean, and meets company quality standards. Subcontractor & Crew Management — Directly manage, schedule, and evaluate all subcontractors and field personnel on quality, safety, productivity, schedule adherence, and cost control. Conduct regular performance feedback and address non-compliance immediately. Supervision — Provide direct supervision, training, and development. Assign daily priorities, review their work, and ensure consistency in quality and safety across all active projects. Act as escalation point for field issues they cannot resolve. Safety Program Ownership — Own and enforce the site safety program. Conduct regular safety audits, ensure all subcontractors and employees comply with company standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations, and halt any unsafe activity immediately. Material & Equipment Management — Manage the procurement, staging, and inventory of construction materials to prevent damage, waste, and theft. Coordinate equipment needs across project phases. Schedule & Budget Accountability — Drive the master construction schedule, anticipate and mitigate delays, and ensure the highest quality product is delivered on time and within budget. Flag cost or schedule risks to project management early. Customer & Stakeholder Relations — Provide a superior level of customer service throughout all phases of construction. Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, property managers, project owners, inspectors, and internal teams. Technical Knowledge & Continuous Improvement — Maintain deep working knowledge of building codes, construction materials, methodologies, terminology, and scheduling best practices. Stay current on industry developments and company standards. Decision-Making Authority — Make on-site decisions on sequencing, resource allocation, and field changes within scope, escalating only those that affect budget, design, or timeline materially. Administrative & Reporting — Maintain accurate daily reports, progress photos, change orders, and time records. Communicate project status clearly and regularly to project management and stakeholders. Professional Conduct — Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and protect the goodwill and profitability of the company. Education and/or Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required 10+ years of related construction experience , with at least 5 years in a supervisory or lead role Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation Strong verbal and written communication skills Proven commitment to customer satisfaction and quality workmanship Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and other construction documents Self-directed — requires minimal supervision and can create a systematic approach to carrying out assignments Ability to communicate effectively with customers, all levels of management, field crews, and trade partners Proficiency with smartphones, tablets, and laptops for daily reporting and communication Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook), email, and construction management software Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; ability to navigate active construction sites (walking, climbing, standing for extended periods) Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree from a four-year college (construction management, engineering, or related field preferred) 5+ years of construction supervisory experience OSHA 10 or 30 certifications Work Conditions Regular presence on active construction sites exposed to weather, dust, noise, and heavy equipment Ability to work overtime and additional hours as necessary to meet project deadlines
