Type:
perdiem We are seeking an experienced Basebuild Superintendent to support the construction of a large-scale semiconductor manufacturing facility in Manassas, Virginia. This individual will oversee field operations related to base building scope including structural, architectural, civil, envelope, and core/shell construction activities while coordinating closely with MEP, cleanroom, and tool install teams. The ideal candidate will possess strong industrial or semiconductor construction experience with a proven ability to manage schedule, subcontractors, safety, and quality on complex fast-track projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day field operations for basebuild construction activities.
- Supervise subcontractors and coordinate sequencing across civil, structural, architectural, and CSA trades.
- Drive project schedule execution and maintain milestone commitments.
- Coordinate with project management, engineering, commissioning, and client teams.
- Ensure compliance with project safety standards, site-specific requirements, and OSHA regulations.
- Conduct daily field walks, safety meetings, and subcontractor coordination meetings.
- Identify and proactively resolve field conflicts, constructability issues, and schedule impacts.
- Monitor quality control and ensure work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and semiconductor facility standards.
- Support integration activities between basebuild, cleanroom construction, and tool installation scopes.
- Maintain detailed daily reports, Client tracking, and progress documentation.
- Assist with logistics planning, material coordination, and site access management.
- Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and collaboration across all site teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 8+ years of construction superintendent experience on large industrial, mission critical, or semiconductor projects.
- Experience supporting semiconductor fabs, cleanrooms, advanced manufacturing, or high-tech facilities strongly preferred.
- Strong understanding of: Basebuild / core & shell construction Structural steel and concrete systems Building envelope systems CSA coordination Industrial site logistics
- Proven experience managing subcontractors in fast-paced construction environments.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, schedules, and specifications.
- Working knowledge of Primavera P6 and/or Microsoft Project preferred.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required by project schedules. Preferred Qualifications
- Semiconductor fab construction experience.
- Experience working on Client, Micron, TSMC, GlobalFoundries, or similar advanced technology projects.
- Knowledge of cleanroom protocols and advanced manufacturing environments.
- Experience with Lean Construction and pull planning methodologies.
