Job Description

An established and highly respected national commercial general contractor is seeking an experienced General Superintendent to join its growing team and support the construction of large-scale commercial projects! The General Superintendent will provide senior-level field leadership, overseeing Superintendents and construction operations across multiple commercial projects while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and in accordance with the GC's operational expectations. This position is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional with experience managing ground-up multifamily, student housing, mixed-use, municipal, and other complex commercial projects. Key Responsibilities:
Project Oversight :
Manage all on-site activities for multiple construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.
Team Leadership :
Supervise and lead field crews, subcontractors, and other construction personnel. Promote a positive work environment and foster collaboration among teams.
Schedule & Budget Management :
Ensure the project schedule is followed, resolve any delays or issues, and ensure projects stay within budget.
Safety Compliance :
Enforce strict adherence to safety policies and regulations on every job site, conducting regular safety meetings and site inspections.
Quality Control :
Monitor the quality of work performed by subcontractors and the construction crew, ensuring it meets project specifications and company standards.
Client & Stakeholder Communication :
Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, engineers, and project managers, providing regular project updates and addressing concerns.
Problem Solving & Decision Making :
Act as the first line of defense when issues arise, quickly assessing the situation and taking corrective action as needed.
Documentation & Reporting :
Maintain accurate daily logs, reports, and records, and track progress against the project's scope, schedule, and cost.
Qualifications:
Experience :
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in the construction industry, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or leadership role overseeing large-scale projects.
Knowledge :
Strong understanding of construction processes, techniques, materials, and building codes.
Skills :
Proven ability to manage complex projects and lead diverse teams. Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Education :
High school diploma required; a degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Certifications :
OSHA 30-hour certification (or higher), CPR/First Aid certification, and other relevant safety certifications preferred.
Software :
