Job Description
The Construction Safety Coordinator/Superintendent must be self-motivated and able to thrive in a Design/Build commercial construction team environment working directly with sub-contractors, customer representatives, local building officials and project management/sales staff. This position is for a construction safety coordinator who is able to also maintain project superintendent responsibilities Durand Builders has been a General Contracting leader in the field of design/build construction since 1964 and active throughout the Upper Midwest with the addition of successfully completed projects throughout the United States. Construction Safety Coordinator Core Responsibilities:
- Overseeing and implementing safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being of all personnel on construction sites.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations that apply to our projects and company.
- Provide employee trainings, briefings and observations.
- Pre-Project site specific safety planning.
- Inspect workplaces for any possible hazards.
- Provide thoroughly reporting of any accidents or incidents.
Construction Superintendent Core Responsibilities:
- On-site management overseeing daily field activities, equipment and labor.
- Scheduling short-term timelines and coordinating daily tasks.
- Schedule and direct trades, vendors and crews on site.
- Monitor on site safety compliance.
- On-site quality control for work in progress to ensure it matches design specifications and building codes. Job candidate requirements include, but not limited to:
- 2+ years of field supervision or design/build experience within the commercial building industry preferred.
- Proficiency in safety, daily planning, hands-on leadership, plan/spec interpretation, and knowledge of all phases of commercial construction projects.
