Help Build Arizona's Transportation Infrastructure Quality Testing, LLC (QT) is seeking experienced Bridge & Highway Construction Inspectors who currently hold both ACI and ATTI certifications to support highway, bridge, roadway, airport, and heavy-civil construction projects throughout Arizona.
Pay Range:
$23.00-$45.00 per hour
Schedule:
Full-time, approximately 40-50 hours per week Starting pay will be based on relevant inspection experience, certifications, technical knowledge, and project qualifications. Statewide travel may be required. A company vehicle and per diem are provided for eligible assignments. Responsibilities may include:
Inspecting highway, bridge, roadway, airport, utility, drainage, and heavy-civil construction projects Observing and documenting daily construction activities Verifying that contractor work complies with approved plans, specifications, contract requirements, and applicable standards Inspecting earthwork, grading, subgrade preparation, aggregate base, concrete placement, asphalt paving, utilities, and drainage systems Inspecting ADA improvements, sidewalks, curb and gutter, retaining walls, and structural components Performing field inspections, materials verification, and quality-assurance observations throughout construction Performing or coordinating concrete, soil, asphalt, and aggregate testing when required Monitoring construction progress, quantities, materials, and field operations Preparing detailed daily inspection reports, diaries, and supporting project documentation Identifying construction deficiencies and communicating concerns to appropriate project personnel Working collaboratively with contractors, engineers, project managers, and agency representatives to resolve field issues Attending project meetings and communicating inspection findings to project stakeholders Following all company, project, and client safety requirements Required Experience and Qualifications Previous bridge, highway, roadway, transportation, heavy-civil, or directly related construction inspection experience Experience inspecting construction activities for compliance with approved plans, specifications, contracts, and applicable standards Experience inspecting or testing concrete, soil, asphalt, aggregate, reinforcing steel, structural components, or related construction materials Ability to read and interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, project specifications, and contract documents Ability to prepare accurate and timely inspection reports, diaries, and field documentation Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality Ability to communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, project managers, and agency representatives Ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader project team Ability to safely navigate active construction sites and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets company standards Required Certifications Candidates must currently hold both of the following: ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician—Grade I A current ATTI certification applicable to soils, asphalt, aggregates, or another relevant testing discipline Applicants must provide the names and expiration dates of their current ACI and ATTI certifications during the application process. Additional Preferred Qualifications and Certifications Experience supporting ADOT, municipal, county, airport, or federally funded transportation projects Bridge, highway, roadway, airport, utility, drainage, or public works inspection experience NICET certifications ICC certifications SWPPP certification ADOT inspection certifications ATSSA traffic-control certifications Additional transportation inspection or construction materials-testing certifications Schedule and Travel Requirements This is a full-time field position. Work schedules may vary based on project requirements and may include days, nights, weekends, overtime, or extended shifts. Travel to project sites throughout Arizona is required. Some assignments may require overnight stays or extended travel depending on the project's location and duration. For eligible assignments, QT provides a company vehicle and per diem .
