Field Inspector - Fiber Network Construction (FTTH) Position Overview We are seeking a Field Inspector to oversee and monitor fiber optic network construction projects supporting Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) deployments. This position serves as the primary field representative, ensuring that contractors and subcontractors perform work in accordance with approved engineering designs, permitting requirements, safety standards, and construction specifications. This is a 100% field-based role , requiring daily travel throughout assigned project areas to inspect construction activities, document progress, and ensure quality control throughout the build process. Key Responsibilities Conduct field inspections of ongoing OSP (Outside Plant) fiber construction projects. Monitor contractor and subcontractor activities to ensure compliance with approved designs, permits, and project specifications. Verify construction work adheres to city, county, and Department of Transportation requirements. Inspect underground and aerial fiber optic construction for quality, accuracy, and completeness. Review construction drawings, blueprints, and engineering plans to validate field execution. Identify deficiencies, safety concerns, or non-compliant work and communicate findings to project stakeholders. Document project progress through field reports, photos, and inspection records. Coordinate with construction teams to ensure timely resolution of issues. Support FTTH network deployment initiatives by ensuring construction quality and schedule adherence. Required Qualifications Experience with telecommunications construction , preferably within fiber optic network deployments. Strong knowledge of OSP construction practices . Experience performing field inspections on fiber or telecommunications infrastructure projects. Understanding of FTTH (Fiber-to-the-Home) network construction. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and construction plans. Experience with underground utility or fiber optic construction projects. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently in the field. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with fiber optic cable installation, repair, or maintenance. Experience in construction quality assurance or inspection. Familiarity with municipal permitting requirements and right-of-way regulations. Knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure and fiber network build standards. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
