Job Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Owner's Construction Electrical Representative to support construction of a major HVDC Converter Station project in California. This position will serve as the owner's on-site electrical representative, providing construction oversight and monitoring of all electrical activities to ensure work is completed safely, in accordance with project specifications, quality standards, and applicable codes. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, engineers, and the owner's project team to monitor installation quality, witness testing, resolve field issues, and support successful project execution.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Provide field oversight of electrical construction activities to verify work is completed in accordance with approved drawings, project specifications, quality requirements, and applicable codes. Serve as the primary owner representative for electrical construction activities, coordinating with contractors, consultants, engineers, and project management. Perform routine field inspections, construction walkdowns, and witness electrical testing to verify installation quality and contractor compliance. Monitor contractor safety performance, work authorizations, and construction activities to ensure compliance with site safety requirements and OSHA standards. Review technical drawings, specifications, construction documentation, and field changes to verify compliance with project requirements. Assist engineering and construction management teams in resolving technical issues, field conflicts, and construction-related concerns. Maintain field reports, inspection documentation, observations, and project records while communicating construction progress and issues to project leadership.
Job Requirements :
Strong background in high-voltage electrical construction, including substations, switchyards, transmission systems, converter stations, or utility infrastructure projects. Experience serving as an Owner's Representative, Construction Oversight Representative, Field Engineer, Electrical Inspector, or similar role on major capital projects. Thorough understanding of contractor coordination, construction inspections, work authorizations, quality assurance, and field safety practices. Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, one-line diagrams, specifications, construction schedules, and technical documentation. Experience supporting construction planning, scheduling, equipment coordination, and field issue resolution. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including participation in root cause investigations and development of corrective actions. Education /
