Job Description
Dispatcher (Graveyard Shift)
Adelanto, CA Temporary $18.00 - $18.00/hr Onsite Job Description The Dispatcher is responsible for coordinating daily transportation operations by communicating with drivers and customers, scheduling and tracking loads, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory requirements, and maintaining accurate operational records. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and customer service. Essential Responsibilities
Coordinate and monitor the movement of equipment, drivers, and customer shipments.
Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and vendors via phone, electronic communication systems, and written correspondence.
Schedule loads and assist with dispatch operations to ensure on-time service.
Enter and maintain accurate operational data and reports.
Support safety initiatives and help ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Serve as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries, order entry, and service requests.
Key Duties
Maintain regular communication with drivers through dispatch software, PeopleNet, phone, and other communication platforms.
Receive, process, and input customer orders accurately and efficiently.
Monitor load status and provide timely updates to customers, drivers, and supervisors.
Escalate service failures, delayed shipments, accidents, incidents, injuries, spills, and other operational issues to management promptly.
Prepare and maintain required dispatch and operational reports.
Promote a culture of safety and compliance at all times.
Qualifications
Previous dispatch, logistics, transportation, or customer service experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and data entry systems; AS400 experience is a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
Dependable attendance and punctuality required.
