Full Job Description Stormwater Inspector Position:
Full-Time Location:
Southern California (Field-Based) Job Description We have an immediate opening for a full-time Qualified SWPPP Practitioner (QSP) to support projects throughout Southern California, such as Los Angeles, Orange County, Riverside County, San Diego County, and San Bernardino County. The qualified candidate will provide QSP services to multiple active construction projects, including performing site inspections, documenting site conditions, preparing inspection reports, and ensuring compliance with stormwater regulations and each project's Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP). This is primarily a field-based position requiring extensive daily driving, frequent visits to multiple construction sites, and regular site walks. Candidates must be comfortable spending a significant portion of their workday traveling between project sites and conducting inspections independently. Duties Perform QSP visual inspections of construction sites and stormwater BMPs. Conduct regular site walks and document site conditions through photographs and inspection reports. Identify deficiencies, document corrective actions, and follow up on outstanding issues. Perform routine and required rain-event inspections. Prepare inspection reports and related compliance documentation. Coordinate with project staff, contractors, clients, and QSDs. Collect stormwater samples and conduct field testing and analysis as required. Provide BMP and SWPPP-related site training. Maintain inspection schedules and project records. Assist with preparing compliance reports and SWPPP documents as needed. Requirements Valid QSP certification; Alternatively CESSWI, CISEC, or Similar Stormwater Certification Previous construction stormwater inspection experience. Valid California driver's license with a good driving record. Willingness and ability to drive extensively throughout Southern California, including longer distances and visits to multiple construction sites. Ability to perform fieldwork and walk active construction sites, including uneven terrain and slopes. Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet inspection and reporting deadlines. Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. Good attention to detail and ability to prepare clear, accurate inspection reports. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, email, and web-based systems.
