Provide full-time construction inspection services for large in frastructure project with an award winning public agency. Lead Construction Inspector (Civil):

Desirable Qualifications:

A. 10 years of experience providing construction inspection services for urban, underground tunneling or public works/utility construction projects; B. Experience providing lead construction inspection services within the last 15 years: (a) for at least one completed and verifiable, urban underground tunneling construction project valued at $75 million or more with mixed soil conditions and a minimum of 10-feet ID tunnel; and (b) for at least one completed and verifiable public works/utility construction project valued at $50 million or more; C. Seven years of experience as a Lead Construction Inspector supervising, managing, and directing other construction inspectors; D. Experience providing Construction quality control, current construction inspection techniques, and current Occupation Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Cal/OSHA safe working practices, rules, and regulations in relation to different types and phases of construction; E. Experience providing contract plans and specifications for contract administration; performing mathematical computations and applying results to inspection work; and preparing various types of reports and other written communications necessary for recordkeeping and letters to contractors; F. All civil/structural certifications necessary to perform inspections in accordance with best industry practices for the types of inspection needed; i. Civil/Structural - nationally and construction industry accredited technical certification; Key Responsibilities Summary Review and analyze contract specifications and requirements. Conduct site inspections to ensure work meets contract terms. Document and report on project progress and adherence to contract. Identify and report any discrepancies or non-compliance issues. Coordinate with contractors and project managers to resolve issues. Ensure all safety and regulatory standards are met. Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation. Verify that materials and equipment comply with the contract requirements. Attend project meetings to discuss contract-related matters. Assist in the review and approval of contractor invoices and payments.

Additional Qualifications:

5+ years of hands-on inspection experience supporting projects of similar scope and complexity or degree in construction management. Strong understanding of construction methods, standards, equipment, quality and safety per State and Federal requirements. Candidate should have strong computing skills including competency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Word and SharePoint. Ability to interpret plans, specifications, special provisions, and other contract documents. Ability to independently identify potential problems and propose solutions. Sufficient communication skills both written and oral. Valid California Class C driver's license. Position is on-site in San Francisco County. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong organizational, time management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Bachelors in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar discipline is desired, but not required.
