Job Description Insight Global is seeking a Mechanical & Plumbing Inspector to support a project for a leading engineering and construction client. This individual will be responsible for inspecting mechanical building systems, reviewing contractor work for compliance with project specifications, and ensuring quality standards are met throughout construction and commissioning activities. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems as well as a background supporting quality assurance on large commercial, institutional, or federal construction projects.

• Perform field inspections of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection installations to ensure compliance with contract documents, codes, and industry standards.
• Monitor system installation, testing, commissioning, and startup activities.
• Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for conformance with project requirements.
• Identify and document deficiencies, non-conforming work, and corrective actions.
• Witness and document pressure tests, leak tests, functional testing, and system commissioning activities.
• Verify quality of materials, equipment, workmanship, and installation methods.
• Conduct labor interviews to verify proper worker classifications and wage compliance requirements.
• Maintain detailed inspection reports, daily logs, and project documentation.
• Support punch list development, project closeout activities, and final inspections.
• Immediately report safety concerns and potentially hazardous conditions to project leadership.

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
• 8+ years of construction experience with a focus on QA/QC, inspection, or oversight of mechanical systems.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection systems, and applicable building codes.
• Experience reviewing construction drawings, specifications, submittals, and shop drawings.
• Understanding of construction means, methods, and quality control procedures.
• Experience supporting federal, government, military, or higher education construction projects.
