Job Description
Our firm is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our team in the Greater Tampa Bay area. This is an on-site leadership position for a construction professional who takes pride in building it right the first time and has the technical knowledge and field experience to help project teams consistently deliver high-quality work. The Quality Manager will lead and coordinate quality assurance efforts across assigned commercial construction projects, developing and implementing project-specific quality programs while working closely with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, consultants, manufacturers, and owners. The position plays an important role in identifying potential quality concerns early, ensuring compliance with contract documents and company standards, and driving issues through resolution. What You'll Do Develop and maintain Project-Specific Quality Plans and Water Intrusion Plans , including clearly defined responsibilities and accountability. Provide oversight of project quality programs and ensure major quality issues are documented, tracked, and resolved. Perform QA constructability reviews of assigned projects. Conduct regular field observations and identify compliant and non-compliant construction conditions. Interpret drawings, specifications, building codes, owner requirements, and company quality standards. Prepare quality reports for project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors. Work directly with project teams and trade partners to develop corrective actions and prevent recurring quality issues. Lead and assist with quality-related training for employees and business partners. Investigate warranty-related issues and recommend appropriate corrective action. Participate in project and quality meetings, identify trends, and develop strategies to mitigate quality risks. Build strong working relationships with owners, subcontractors, manufacturers' representatives, consultants, and internal project teams. Mentor team members and help reinforce a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Job Requirements 8+ years of construction quality-related experience required , preferably within commercial construction. Experience mentoring, training, or providing leadership to project team members. Strong working knowledge of commercial construction means, methods, sequencing, trades, and scopes of work . Advanced ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, building codes, and technical product and material information . Advanced knowledge of construction quality assurance, material testing, field testing, inspections, and documentation procedures . Ability to identify non-compliant work, determine potential causes, and work with project teams and subcontractors to develop and implement corrective measures. Experience with Procore , including the use of the platform for quality management, inspections, observations, documentation, drawings, and issue tracking. Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with owners, consultants, subcontractors, field personnel, and company leadership. Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and responsibilities, and follow issues through final resolution. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience will be considered. Valid and unrestricted driver's license. Ability and willingness to travel to assigned projects and work non-traditional hours when project needs require.
