Jog Road, WPB 34227 Examines construction plans for compliance with the Florida Building Code, Florida Statutes, and County regulations. Reviews various applications and construction plans for compliance with current building, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical codes. Work is performed within the framework provided by construction codes and Building Division policies and under the direct supervision of an administrative superior. Performance is reviewed through oral/written communications, re-examination of plans, and results obtained.
QUALIFICATIONS
This position requires qualified applicants to possess one of the following: Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of experience as required by the State of Florida in construction work as an Architect, Engineer, Contractor, Inspector, Electrician, Plumber, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician, or Carpenter in the appropriate trade.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT
The selected candidate for this position: Must obtain a Florida Provisional Plans Examiner License for the appropriate discipline within 120 days of hire and a Florida Standard Plans Examiner License for the appropriate discipline within 11 months of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Preferred qualifications include: Experience with construction/building/electrical code compliance or examining construction plans, Associate's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or a related field, or Valid State of Florida Plans Examiner License.
