Utility Locator Protect Critical Infrastructure. Build a Meaningful Career. We're seeking a Utility Locator to help protect underground water, sewer, and gas utilities by accurately locating and marking infrastructure before excavation and construction activities occur. This is an independent, field-based role ideal for someone who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and enjoys working outdoors. What You'll Do Locate and mark underground utility lines using maps, GIS data, engineering drawings, and electronic locating equipment. Interpret job tickets, blueprints, and service requests to plan daily work. Document completed work and report field findings. Verify utility information and communicate updates as needed. Operate a company vehicle safely and professionally. Work with homeowners, contractors, and utility representatives to ensure safe excavation practices. Respond to routine and emergency locating requests, including occasional after-hours work. What You'll Bring High School Diploma or GED. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record. Utility locating experience preferred. Water/wastewater or utility operations experience preferred. Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read maps, drawings, and GIS information. Proficiency with tablets, mobile devices, and Microsoft Office. Physical & Work Environment Lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Walk, bend, kneel, crawl, and climb throughout the workday. Work outdoors in all weather conditions and on varied terrain, including construction sites, roadways, easements, and private property.
