Dan Cristiani Excavating is a contractor with a diverse group of related companies licensed to perform work around the Midwest. We have worked hard for over 54 years to offer a wealth of technical expertise in all areas of utility construction, and excavating services, including earth moving, land clearing, and demolition. We have broad experience in stormwater drainage, water lines, sanitary lines, and stormwater retention. We are looking for a motivated, detail-oriented individual to support our erosion and sediment control efforts across active job sites. This role works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Foremen to perform inspections, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and maintain quality standards through proper installation and maintenance of erosion control measures.Job Duties:
Conduct routine and post-rain erosion and sediment control inspections across active job sites Perform full-site walks to identify deficiencies, risks, and compliance gaps; document findings accurately Prepare and distribute inspection reports to Project Managers, Superintendents, and key stakeholders Coordinate with field leadership to address site conditions and implement corrective actions Interpret plans and drawings to ensure proper installation of erosion control measures Monitor effectiveness of controls and proactively resolve issues to maintain compliance and production flow Lead and direct a crew of 3-4 field personnel, assigning daily and weekly tasks for installation and maintenance Manage inspection schedules across multiple active projects Utilize company systems (e.g., ComplianceGo, BusyBusy, Excel) for tracking inspections and reporting Train new crew members and support ongoing improvements to erosion control processes and program organizationRequirements:
Working knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices in construction environments Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with field crews and leadership Valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions High School Diploma or equivalent Skills Working knowledge of erosion and sediment control practices in construction environments Experience in mass earthwork, grading, or underground utility construction (sewer, water, storm) preferred Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications preferred Familiarity with erosion control materials (e.g., silt fence, inlet protection, stabilization methods) Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with field crews and project leadership Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple job sites Comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions and performing physically demanding tasks Proficient with basic technology (Excel, reporting software, mobile apps) Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required Willing to obtain MSD certification Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferredPHYSICAL DEMANDS
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and uneven terrain Ability to stand, walk, and traverse active construction sites for extended periods Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or pull up to 50 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, crouch, and climb as required Ability to safely navigate active construction zones with heavy equipmentJob Type:
