Local travel only (no overnights) Overview We are seeking an OSP Field Inspector to support fiber construction projects at a new data center site in the South Bend market. This is a field-based role focused on ensuring quality, safety, and compliance across outside plant construction activities. This is a great opportunity for someone with hands-on OSP construction or inspection experience who is comfortable working independently in the field. Key Responsibilities Perform field inspections of OSP fiber construction to ensure compliance with project specs and safety standards Monitor construction activities including: Conduit placement, Vault installation, Fiber placement, Directional boring and trenching, Verify quality of work completed by contractors and subcontractors Conduct site walks and identify deficiencies or non-compliant work Ensure proper installation methods, routing, and restoration practices Review construction drawings, fiber route maps, and permits for accuracy Document findings, track progress, and report updates to project teams Support safety compliance and ensure adherence to OSHA standards Interface with field crews, contractors, and local stakeholders Required Experience 2+ years of experience in telecommunications, utility, or OSP construction inspection Strong understanding of: OSP fiber construction, Conduit systems, Fiber placement methods, Vault installation, Directional boring and trenching Experience monitoring contractor quality and construction compliance Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and prints Comfortable using Microsoft Excel and field-based devices (tablets, mobile tools)

Pay:

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour
